Join us at Patch York on Saturday 29th November 2025 for a festive celebration featuring print and craft stalls, seasonal goodness, and plenty of cheer. Save the date!
During the frost fair of 1739, local printer, Thomas Gent, joined the people of York on the frozen River Ouse. He set up a press to print souvenirs and drew such a large crowd that the ice began to creak. Luckily, no one fell in, and the day was a success! Inspired by this printing heritage, we’ve reinvented York’s frost fair for today.
This year we’ve teamed up with Patch York, a local co-working space, to bring you the 5th annual Frost Fair. Stallholders will include local craftspeople and artists, offering you the chance to support your community and buy handmade gifts, prints, and art.
