Grief Has Many Voices: Hand Embroidery Workshop

Join textile artist Hayley Mills-Styles for this workshop and create a hand embroidered response to the University of York grief survey. Presented as part of the Picturing Grief exhibition.

Hayley will show you how to use fabric and thread to share a story using collected responses from the university’s grief survey. Learn how to create a design using text and images and use a range of hand embroidery stitches to create a unique embroidered design. You will use six stranded embroidery threads and a variety of hand embroidery stitches to build your design.

All materials and equipment are included. However, if you have a basic sewing kit with your favourite tools you are welcome to bring this along.

This class is suitable for complete beginners or people who haven’t embroidered for a while and would like to refine their skills.
