On 28th April, 1763, J. Redferne recorded that The Sorrowful Guild of Master Ghostmakers had opened their premises at St Saviourgate to the public. This print imagines the Guild’s first advertisement, from the same day.

We Are Seven
The poem, by Wordsworth, was published c.1830 as a chapbook by James Kendrew, a York printer who specialised in cheap books for the masses. This haunting poem explores how the ties between loved ones endure after death.
