Coney Street Life by J. R. Carpenter
where does a street start? within sight of it? out the back of it? under the river part of it? when does the water end? with flood floating the rowing club? blue edging the memorial gardens? that’s a bit close, a woman says. and turns. to go.
Coney Street Life: A History of Right Now was written and printed by the award winning artist and poet J. R. Carpenter during her time as Writer in Residence with StreetLife: the project that led to the foundation of Thin Ice Press: the York Centre for Print. We lent J. R. an adana press and a case of type, gave her a rudimentary lesson in typesetting and printing, and sent her away!
Coney Street Life: A History of Right Now is a 32-page cloth-bound portfolio, priced at £115 and published in a limited edition of 55.
